Stay. Work. Build.

Your business journey doesn’t stop at registration.

    Visa

Enter Thailand on a Non-Immigrant B Visa or another eligible visa. Embassy processing typically takes 2–4 weeks.

  2. 02

    Documents

Passport, visa, medical certificate, 3×4 cm photos and educational certificates — plus the employer’s company documents.

  3. 03

    Application

Your employer submits the application to the Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour.

  4. 04

    Approval

Processing usually takes about 7–10 business days.

  5. 05

    Work Permit

You receive the work permit booklet — typically valid for one year and renewable annually.

Key requirements for a Thailand work permit

Non-Immigrant visa
Enter Thailand with a Non-Immigrant B Visa or another eligible type such as the Non-Immigrant IB for BOI projects. A tourist visa won’t suffice.
Employer sponsorship
A Thai employer sponsors the permit — typically with registered capital of 2 million THB per foreign employee (Thai-majority) or 3 million THB (foreign-majority), and a ratio of four Thai employees per foreign worker, with exemptions such as BOI-promoted companies.
Job restrictions
Certain occupations are reserved for Thai nationals. Your job must not fall under these restricted categories.
Employer-specific
Switching jobs requires a new permit. Foreigners staying long-term must also complete 90-day address reporting.

Regulations can change. Confirm your situation with our Visa Support Team.
